Steps in the CUET Admission Process
1. Register for the Exam
- Visit the NTA's official website.
- Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
- Fill out and submit the CUET Online Application Form on the participating colleges' websites or the official CUET website.
- Provide basic details and upload necessary documents.
Documents to Keep Handy:
- A recent photograph (color or black and white) with 80% of the face visible against a white background, sized between 10kb to 200kb.
- A scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format, sized between 4kb to 30kb.
- Scanned copies of category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) between 50kb to 300kb in PDF.
- A valid PwBD certificate scanned copy between 50kb to 300kb in PDF.
Application Fees:

- Additional subjects: ₹400 (General), ₹375 (OBC/EWS), ₹350 (SC/ST/PwBD/Third gender), ₹1800 (International).
2. Take the Exam
- Download the admit card and city intimation slip.
- Report to the exam center on time and complete the exam.
3. Check the Answer Key and Cut-off Scores
- Obtain raw scores using the CUET answer key.
- Check cut-off scores for your preferred colleges on their official websites.
4. CUET Counselling Registration
- Register for counseling, upload required documents, and indicate course preferences.
- Follow the official information brochure for admission dates and further steps.
5. Understand Your Scores
- Your raw (actual) scores will be used for the CUET admission process.
- Percentiles are calculated using the number of candidates with scores equal to or less than yours, divided by the total number of candidates, multiplied by 100.
- No normalization of scores; actual scores are used directly.
6. Tie-breaking Rules
- If two candidates have the same score and choose the same college and course, Class 12 board scores will be used as a tiebreaker.
7. Result and Re-evaluation
- Results are processed based on final answer keys.
- No re-evaluation or re-checking of results.
- Download scorecards from the official website.
8. Attend the Counselling Process
- Admission depends on meeting all criteria, including eligibility, rank, medical fitness, and verification of original documents.
- Each Central University handles its own admissions, with schedules and merit lists announced post-result declaration.
Important Points to Remember
- You can participate in the counseling process of any university, even if you didn't apply to it initially, provided you meet their eligibility criteria.
- Universities may admit candidates who have appeared for the CUET, regardless of their initial application choices, as long as the eligibility criteria are met.
